The Dark Monk: A Hangman's Daughter Tale - Engaging Characters, Fun Read!

I was recently given the opportunity to read a new book, The Dark Monk, by BzzAgent as well as it's predecessor The Hangman's Daughter.  I admit that in general I'm a chick lit addict so reading The Dark Monk was a bit of a departure for me, but after reading The Hangman's Daughter I knew I would need to read this one as well. It's fast-paced, engaging and the characters are well developed. It was hard to put down!  Highly recommend you give it a try too.

imPRESS Press On Manicure

I received a set of imPRESS Press On Nails in the mom voxbox I was sent by Influenster.  I love, love, love them!  They are perfect for my petite hands.  A lot of press on nails are way too big and long on my hands and I look tacky, not too mention they pop off.  These just looked more natural (even though they were a lovely shade of purple.)  I just looked like I had perfectly polished nails.  Friends could not believe they were press on.  The kicker?  Easy application.  Like, way easy.  Peel off and press on.  I highly recommend you give them a try too.  And with 36 colors and patterns, the possibilities are endless.

The Many Uses of Ivory

I recently received a sample of Ivory soap from Influenster.  When I first opened the box, I was thinking, "We all know this product, why a sample?"  In a twist of fate, since having a baby 11 months ago I've developed new allergies and one of them is soap.  I'm now so appreciative of how it is 99.94% pure ingredients.  Nothing to make me break out!  This is also amazing for your face.  I've started reading more and more about how using a more pure soap can lead to better skin.  Makes sense doesn't it?  And Ivory has been right under our noses all along.

I've also researched a few others uses for Ivory...
- Carving animals.  Ok I didn't research this one, it actually came to mind pretty quick from childhood memories.  Now that I have my own child- it'll be something fun to do in a few years.
- Removing ring around the collar stains.  Yes, yes, yes: finally a way to get rid of it in my husband's shirts!
- Clean dirty windowsills.  Amy I the only one who has this problem?  They just get neglected.  Sorry windows.
- Natural pesticide.  Mix with water, spray on leaves, voila.

All this in a neat little white package, which is less expensive per oz than the majority of soaps and body washes.

Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies

I was recently given the opportunity to sample Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookies through the Influenster mom voxbox program.  They were absolutely delicious!  I'll be the first to admit, I'm not big on oatmeal cookies in general.  I am a chocolate girl through and through.  I was skeptical when the sample came in my box, but now I can say I have seen the oatmeal raisin light.  The cookie was melt-in-your-mouth soft and the flavor was excellent.  The best part?  Only 6 grams of fat and a good source of fiber.  Thanks Quaker and Influenster!
